ACROPOLIS MUSEUM
June 2012, Lightstands, Acropolis Museum, Athens

In June 2012 the exhibition “Light on light: An illuminating story” by the Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia and Thrace was transfered to Technopolis in Athens. Aiming to promote the exhibition, Beforelight designed a light installation for the lobby entrance of the Acropolis Museum. Inspired by the lighted chimneys of the former gas factory in Gazi, which are now a landmark of contemporary Athens and taking into account the harmonic integration of the installation in the museum’s entrance, they designed two wooden light sculptures. Moreover the installation provided information material on the exhibition in Technopolis.
