The light interventions at Pittaki Street and Stoa Emporon in Athens have been innovative proposals of creative lighting that renewed the physiognomy of the city. Itsartworks have been presented in exhibitions, museums, and contemporary art festivals, both in Greece and abroad.
The group was awarded with the Gold Award in the category Artistic Lighting for its Christmas interventions at Stavros Niarchos Park of the SNFCC at the Greek Lighting Awards 2020.
During 2013-2015, with the support of the European Cultural Foundation, Beforelight realized the project Urban Lightscapes, a European research and participation program for the creative design of urban lighting, developing actions in Greece, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Beforelight conceptualizes, designs, and applies light art and design, in an effort to encourage public collective experience with natural or artificial light. The group follows a process which takes site specificity into account, along with the innovative use of old and new lighting devices.
